Free and included with every piece. Each one is crafted to order by our partner atelier and inspected by our own team in Tampa before it ships, so we stand behind it for its lifetime. Here is the whole warranty in plain language, including what it doesn't cover.
Free, for life
The Modern Origin Lifetime Warranty is included with every piece at no cost. It covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the piece, for the original purchaser. No registration card, no annual fee.
Lost-stone replacement
If a center or accent diamond is lost because of a defective setting, we replace it with a stone of equal or better IGI grade.
Free and insured, both ways
Covered work costs you nothing. We send a prepaid insured shipping label, repair or replace the piece, and ship it back to you insured, free of charge.
What's covered
- Broken or defective prongs caused by a manufacturing defect
- Broken or defective settings caused by a manufacturing defect
- Broken or defective clasps and earring posts caused by a manufacturing defect
- Broken solder joints caused by a manufacturing defect
- Replacement of a center or accent diamond lost because of a defective setting, with a stone of equal or better IGI grade
What isn't
- Normal wear and tear, such as scratches, thinning of the metal and prong wear over time
- Accidental damage
- Loss or theft
- Damage from chemicals, impact or misuse
- Repairs or resizing done by anyone other than Modern Origin, which voids the warranty
- Engraving changes
Making a claim
- 1 · Contact us
- Email or call us with your order number and a few clear photos of the piece.
- 2 · Send it in
- We send you a prepaid, insured shipping label with packing instructions.
- 3 · Inspection in Tampa
- Our Tampa team inspects the piece and emails you an assessment.
- 4 · Repaired and returned
- We repair or replace the piece and ship it back to you insured, free of charge. Typical turnaround is 2–3 weeks.
The warranty is offered to the original purchaser and applies to pieces purchased directly from Modern Origin Diamond Co. Items must be in reasonable condition and accompanied by the original order number. Every diamond we sell is a laboratory-grown (laboratory-created) diamond and is not a mined diamond.
Keep it protected
Have the prongs checked by a jeweler once a year — a worn prong caught early is a simple fix. Because the warranty doesn't cover loss, theft or accidental damage, we also recommend insuring your piece with a jewelry insurer such as Jewelers Mutual or through your homeowner's or renter's policy.
